Default Can a Dealer retrofit a HUD? Also Need Help Choosing an S7!

I'm getting ready to trade in my 3 series for a used 2013 or 2014 Audi S7. My 3 series BMW and my mothers 2012 Audi A7 both have heads up displays and I love them. I think they help a lot with driver distraction. I also love the fact that the Audi's lets you know when your riding someones bumper. I'm looking at two used s7's right now and 1 has the HUD and the other doesn't. I like the one without the HUD more and I'm wondering if a Audi dealer can retrofit one?

I also need help choosing one of these S7's. Below is a list of details on each car.

2013 Audi S7 (Havanna Black Metallic) (Black Interior) - $37,999
  • Innovation Package
  • Comfort Seating Package
  • LED w LED DRL's
  • Two sets of tires and wheels. Sport and all season. Factory and custom rims
  • Carbon Inlay
  • Cold Weather Package
This has one has 62k miles on it. It's at an American car manufacturers dealer and they said it has an issue with the timing belt and that an Audi tech is coming to fix it. Car also had 3 previous owners.

2014 Audi S7 (Glacier White Mettalic) (Lunar Silver Interior) - $39,899
  • Cold weather package
  • Diamond stiched seats with adjustable thigh support
  • Not sure of any other packages (they dont have original audi window sticker)
This car had one owner, older female driven. 95k miles on it. She was a real estate agent. I could hear some rubbing on the brakes at the end of the test drive, but I did drive the hell out it. This one's at a BMW dealer. They just got it this last week.

I was leaning towards the 2014 even though it's white and has the HUD because it is a one owner vehicle in clean shape inside and out. I was hoping I could have a dealer retrofit the HUD into the white one. I was planning on getting the car wrapped in a matte black anyways.

I'm not sure about the black 2013. It's had 3 previous owners. One across the country and two in my state. It's also at a ford dealership and they have no idea what they are talking about when they guess what's wrong with it. It does have less miles, it's cheaper, and has the package I really want which includes the HUD.

I'm at such a loss right now. Please help! lol

Any input is appreciated, Thanks!

Default I'd consider the HUD something nice, but no deal breaker.

When it comes to options, we all have our thing. Mine is the ACC: I love it! I sit in 2-3 hrs of stop-go traffic daily, so it makes total sense for me.

In a vacuum, the white car makes more sense - but that's me. Good luck!

Default HUD

could a HUD be retrofitted? Given enough money I would say yes but from a practical stand point no. Besides the dash the windshield on a HUD car is different and by the way more expensive. It is not a uniform thickness. I was also told the calibration is tricky. I was told this when I got a stone chip in mine but lucky it was filled and invisible.

I like HUD and have it on my car as well as my wife's Lexus.
You just have to weigh it versus the other features.

Can anything be retrofitted (With enough money and time)? Yes.
Will the dealer do it? Nope, not a chance.

I'm in the middle of a relatively simple retrofitting project myself and the dealer wouldn't even help me run a wire. All they offered to do was to code the control module after everything was installed. My short answer is; unless you are comfortable doing it yourself forget about it.
