I occasionally hear an odd sound in the cargo area of my 2016 S7. I've not been able to locate where this sound is coming from, so I was wondering if anyone else has had this issue.

I've removed the cover that conceals the cargo area, and I've removed the parcel shelf in the back, but I still hear this noise.

I've taken the spare tire out to make sure there's nothing loose in that space. Still this noise continues.

It almost sounds like the hatch itself is having some type of stress. It's random, and not every bump in the road makes it happen.

I never heard this noise when I had my A7.

I'm taking the car in this week for it's 5K service and I'll ask them to investigate. I was just curious if anyone else has experienced this.

Aquarian had some rear hatch area noises and posted many shots of the rear disassembled. I'll look for the thread.

The dealer replaced the pull down motor, as they believe it wasn't securing the hatch as tight as it needed.
