Default Which Blendmount for radar detector?

Which Blendmount is used in an S7 for mounting an Escort 9500ix? I think I've narrowed it down to the Aud-004 or Aud-005.

Thanks

Yup, i had trouble with this too. I have a 2015 S7 ... I got the AUD-004 for the 9500ix and it works great. I was a bit skeptical overall on the mirror mount, but the thing is rock solid, and easy to install.

Thanks. A poster in another forum also used the -004 and said it worked well.

How did you power it? Homelink, fuse panel, or mirrortap?

I ran an escort hardwire from the fuse panel on the driver size (right-most block of mini-fuses, fuse 2, a 5 amp switched fuse for the horn and rearview mirror).

I removed the nut in the upper left of the fuse area and wound my ground around the post there before putting the nut back on. A little tough to get in there with a socket but doable.

I ran the wire up the A pillar and under the headliner.

I bought a mirror tap but am probably going to return it. Could figure out how to remove the mirror housing and was afraid to tug too hard on it. If anyone does it and has pictures, would love to know how to do it without running my car!

The plastic trim comes off fairly easy. I slid it backwards towards the headliner about 1/4 inch then wiggled it back and forth and side to side and it popped off. The attaching areas are not that aggressive. But I know what you mean...when I first tried it I was worried I would snap it off.

I ordered the Blendmount and mirrortap yesterday so will do it this weekend. I'll post pics when I'm done.

NPKR - did you happen to get this done this weekend? Interested in seeing pics if so. Might try to do mine next weekend.
