Ticking sound in dash when AC is on a "characteristic" of S7's?
Our brand new 2017 S7 ticks when the AC is on. Usually takes about 30 seconds after AC is turned on. Sounds like playing cards lightly tapping on the spokes of a bicycle wheel, or a wire brushing up against a computer fan. It's faint, but annoying and loud enough that you can hear it when the stereo is at a moderate level. The ticking gets louder and quieter, but is always there. The dealership is telling us all the S7's do it, and other models too...some more than others. The dealer had another new S7 and we took it for a test drive and did not hear the sound. I guess thats one of the cars that ticks less?
So have any of you who have a 2016-2017 S7 notice this ticking? I couldn't imagine this being normal. It's so annoying I don't even want to drive the car if the AC has to be on...

It could be debris in the blower motor. The motor is behind the glove box and be accessed from the engine compartment.
Remove the rubber gasket the holds the cowl cover in place. Remove the cowl cover but note how it is attached at the rear. Remove the plastic grate covering the air inlet and you should see the blower motor squirrel cage fan. You might have to remove the intake funnel to get better access to the impeller if you can't reach in and remove foreign matter.
I had mine apart because I used the opening to run a control wire into the cabin.

The ticking sound you describe is absolutely not normal.
This is a new car, pressure the dealer to sort it.
My S7 a/c is whisper quiet, as you would expect in a $100k car....
