I'm guessing your A8 is an older car with a normally aspirated engine. For several years now the A8 V8 has been turbocharged....the same engine as the S6/7. Not slow at all. Quite the contrary.

Yeah got the 4.2L and not the 4.0T so probably why I am not giving fair comparison

As a consolation maybe (finally in the US) we will get an RS6 to compliment the RS7. That should have an interesting setup.

I had an interesting conversation with one of the Product Managers from AoA last week. He hinted that while the S7 will be getting the 2.9L V6, that we would probably see the output turned up to 500 HP. The RS7 is expected to start near 620 HP.

500hp definitely changes the conversation. I was intent on keeping my ‘16 S7 for the foreseeable future because I love the V8 and dual clutch. But the 2.9L with 500hp S7 makes the decision harder.
