I had releases signed for every sticker on the car
They blurred out 'Symantec' on the front fender and the 'Audi' from Ken Garff Audi because they felt the names were such big brands their legal department wanted to 'safe'. Absolutely stupid IMO.
Discovery Channel has a policy that they will blur any website, as well as license plates.
Not much I can do about it now, but they told me there would be "no problem" with the stickers both before shooting and when they were shooting. Then 2 weeks before it aired they informed me that if I didn't have releases then all of the stickers would be blurred. I got every release signed and submitted within 24 hours, but they went ahead and did the blur.

Well, the signatures were a formality
All of the stickers were there for a reason, and I knew exactly who to talk to in each company/organization to get the signature.
Can you imagine how long it would have taken for them to try and track down the right individuals in each organization?
For me it was pretty much a series of phone calls, emails with the release form, and them faxing the releases either to me or to the production company. I did all the legwork and got all the approvals up front.
It's still too bad they disregarded some based on their own paranoia.
