I think they look bitchin'

What's cool is they're so "never see one goin' the other way." Good job (as usual).

For me, it's not so much the money, it's the time.

I would never pay dealership service rates like they do in the magazine articles. The cost of parts for D2s can be held to a reasonable level with careful shopping, with a few dealer-only exceptions....

I was a high bidder the last time the auction ran.

He didn't make his reserve. I tried to go and look at the car, and made a sight unseen offer. The seller is/was very uncommunicative. I am interested in several parts from it (seats, mirrors, brakes,...

Interstate has a direct replacement

I'm 2 years in on my second one (1st one failed under warranty at 3 years). About $110 IIRC.

Yup. And I helped.

In fairness though, the car was already up in the air. So you'd have to add the time to take the wheel off. But I do believe it was about 20 minutes, all told. Counting the time spent looking for a...

Control arm time (again!). What's the consensus? Stealer/OEM?

I must remove these POS Myeles before I mount new rubber! Has anyone bought the "oem quality or better" from deutschparts on fleabay? Made with racing aluminum! How about Blau? Share your...

But you have three times the A8s of most others here! Including the only handmade 6 speed.

I still only have one A8 (and with a trans that'll make you crazy). For now, anyway. Man, I wish I wouldn't have driven Paul's S...I'm still jonesin' for S-mode...and they're gettin' so cheap. Are...

I'd invite you to make a nice smoky fire with those pieces of s#*t.

As I said, those were the worst ever. They started out OK, but after about 10K I had to check and see if they were square.

And a great buy. I'm still looking around for rubber for the SSRs.

I did the whole set and they were gone in under 10 thousand miles.

Thanks. But I'm so pissed off at my 8 right now It's pretty much parked.

Fortunately I have a few other beaters to get me around. I'd hate to have to depend on this Audi-- seems there's always a long to-do list. But the real kicker is the trans. Makes me crazy to drive...

You must be running my fronts on the back. Those Dunlops were the noisiest tire ever.

Those baldies were the tires that were trashed by my FIRST front suspension. The Myele front end on the car now is working on the otherwise excellent Extas. I'm overdue to do the front end again, and...

Man, I disliked those tires.

Subies are generally VERY reliable

I still have a '90 Legacy GT (my kid has it at college) that I bought new. Very little has ever gone wrong with it and it's a fantastic winter car. AWD, kiler heat, and I can honestly say the car has...

Can I run 245/40/18s on my D2 without issue?

I have 245/45/18s now. The 40s are .7 inch smaller and run 801 revs per mile (vs. 779 for the 45s) per Michelin spec. I found some nice tires for Paul's old SSRs, but they're 40s. Anyone have...

I'll trade you, Paul

I'll even deliver 'em. Meet you at Eddies? I have the stock forged 17s and 6 decent Dunlop sport A2s. Not that you'd want to run those.

Nice pix. I'm very interested in your brake mod!

Do you have projected pricing yet? What model Porsche/Brembo calipers are you utilizing? More info, please...
