Driver's side head only has the cam plug and cam seal for the CSP on the back. Not leaking at the plug?

Valley pan gasket is not a know leaker on the 30v. That would be an oddball.

For that kind of volume, it must be a high pressure leak.

This really isn't possible if he used the tools and did the job correctly. Cam timing is infinitely adjustable. It's not difficult to get it correct...much harder to get it "off a tooth"

If spitballing, I'd agree with the crank sensor comments. Another guess would be a coolant temp sensor.
