Default 2008 Audi TT spare tire

In the last 12 months I have had 4 flat tires on my run flats. Two sidewall rips and two nails in the treads. Being the tires are not typically stocked, I have to wait for one to be sent in. Is anyone aware of a "donut spare" that will fit our model? My concern is getting a blow out on a highway in the middle of nowhere. It's crazy there is no wheel well to hold a spare. Any help is appreciated.

The Audi TT uses the same wheel bolt pattern and offset as the the VW Golf and GTI for which donuts are available. Do a search online and you should be able to get a reasonable price from one of the online used parts places.

Thanks. Being the tire is an 18" (my model is a 2008 TT 3.2 convertible),do you know what year Golf or GTI is compatible? I see many 16" donut wheels but no 18". I was told the nut spacing is 112 mm

There is room for a spare if you take out the foam filler in the back, or even modify it for a spare.

The MKV Golf R32 comes standard with a 125/70 R18 spare to clear it's larger brakes, and at the same time fit the much shallower trunk space. The offset & bolt pattern is the same as the TT (5 x 112). Take a look at this http://www.tt-forum.co.uk/forum/view...ce4325cb371312

Default 2008 Audi TT 3.2 Spare Tire

Thank you for your help.. Being myself and a couple of other Audi TT owners are located in the USA, We cannot find a Volkswagen GTI MKV R32 125/70 R18 spare wheel/tire here. Dont know why, but I believe the tires on the US model GTI models must be different.

If anyone has another suggestion, I would welcome hearing it

I just traded in my '04 VW R32 and was told the winter tires on my VW R did not fit. I think they were telling the truth. Like the TT's there is no room for a spare!! Sucks but true! TW

I'd call around to a few auto salvage yards and see if they have any late model GTI's or R32's. That were hit in the front, not the rear, of course.

I bought the rim specified in the link above on line from:

http://www.vwpartscenter.net/partloc...&siteid=215911

The 'tyre' the link specified came from a salvage yard that advertises on ebay..

Wheel fits fine over the large front brakes on my 2011 TTS. Test drove it a few miles & didn't even trip the software for TPMS- rolling circumference is virtually identical. Only difference is that my trunk has a big hump in center of spare tire spot, so had to store tire w/ outer side UP vs down as in article.
