My salesperson just gave me a ring asking if I wanted to add the now available Black Optic Package to my order.. It sounded all good and nice till he said its an extra $1,500usd...
Wish is was a cost less option once you spend enough for the Prestige Trim. Anyhow, I bet it would make any Q7 look sexy-er but im over budget already

My ETA is mid July, still waiting on final date.
My understanding was that anything chrome on the outside would be blacked out and only the rings would be the only chrome on the grill.

I have the Black Optic on my A7 and it looks go much better, no chrome other than the logos.

I emailed my salesperson asking her if she heard anything on this package.

I am specifically interested in what the wheel option would be with the black optic. Is this something that would probably look best with dark color interior and exteriors...

Hard to make decisions with no actual pictures.

Anyone have a copy of the most recent order guide? I'm wondering what other options they may have added in addition the black optic package... since my build is still changeable

I talked to Audi of North America and they said the Black Optics package includes 21" 5-Spoke RS design wheels with summer tires, black front grille, roof rails, and window surrounds. Package can only be added to the Prestige Line and was the only option added to the order guide.

Black Optics package sounds good, except for the fear of driving around on low profile tires with no spare. I guess I will plan on buying a 19" wheel & tire to keep in back as a spare. A can of fix-a-flat can't fix all flats, especially if a pothole blows out a sidewall.

My sales guy just emailed me the latest order guide.

The 2017 Q7 order guide has the following changes as of 4/6/16:

- Paint Disclaimer Added: 0R0R - Tofana White crystal effect (please expect production delay)
- Package Addition: PPS - Black Optic package $1500 (21" 5-twin-spoke design RS wheels, Titanium with 285/40 summer performance tires)
- Option Code Change: 906 - Audi MMI Navigation plus package has been changed to PNQ. All package content remains unchanged.
- Port Installed Accessories Code Addition: SPC - Seven Pin Connector for Towing Hitch $125

So it looks like the $1500 is not so bad for the black optics package because it includes the 21" wheels in titanium finish (which is normally a $1000 option). Essentially, the black optics package is only $500 if you were already planning on ordering 21" wheels, except you get titanium finish instead of the silver.

Also, for those who added the tow package, Audi wants to charge us $125 for the connector (code SPC)... which is otherwise a $15 part from various online retailers. But at least it will come installed lol

I'm torn on what to do. My Q is scheduled to be built next week. Adding Black Optic means a 3 month wait and I'll have to buy snow tires.
