Default Driving Modes Tip

Came across this Evo TTS tip [via their latest TTRS review]. I've had mine almost a year now and as I suspect most have run the gamut of modes and individualized settings. I've mostly used Auto to date but Individual with all Dynamic save for dampers on Comfort of late. Seems to be what they arrived at as well.

Thanks for sharing. I will try auto vs dynamic next time out in canyons. My everyday setting on individual has suspension on comfort ....

youd have to be daft to drive in dynamic mode all the time. auto is quite handy especially with the magnetic ride

Keeping the drive select in Auto is the fastest way around a track.

The transmission in particular really comes alive for me in dynamic. But I can't speak to track experience.

Auto is my daily go-to however.

You'd know better than I as I don't even have my car yet. Won't track it regardless... have a dedicate race car for such pursuits. I'll just remark that some tracks are smooth, some bumpy and there's the issue of just how much curbing you tend to take on. I could imagine using any of the suspension modes depending.

Dynamic dampers seems to upset the car quite a bit if the road is uneven and youre spirited driving. RIP if you hit a pothole at speed. Genuinely sounds like you hit a wall!

Same you can't use launch control in individual with all dymanic sans dampers. That's the only thing keeping me in dynamic.

I use launch control in Individual mode, which for me is all dynamic except dampers in comfort. You have to be in Sport mode, DSC off and oil warmed, etc.

Wait..... wait. I thought you had to be in dynamic for LC to work?!?! I could've sworn that's what the manual said. I feel so violated lol

Nope, transmission has to be in S and ESC has to be in Sport mode or off. You can launch in comfort mode as long as you put the transmission in S and ESC in Sport or off. The owner's manual should say to put the transmission in S or Drive Select in 'dynamic'.
