2005 A8 base blue/amaretto
Ive had my a8 since 2014, and it is now starting to leak coolant. When i take a look under the car i can see where the serpentine belt is and there is a box that could be/looks like the ould pan directly behind that and its leaking around the edges of that. My car has never leaked anything before and now it is overheating if ran linger than 35 minutes. Has this happened to anyone before? I need a oil change i know that, i havent had it changed in 6k miles, but i have one scheduled at Kendall Audi of Bend on 4/23, but i don't think thats the issue. There also is a "service in 1200 miles or 150 days" sign that pops up when i start my vehicle that started around the same time the leak did. If you know anything, please help!!!

Hello A8PNW,
Looks like it is time for the timing belt, thermostat, water pump, idler pullys, and tensioner service, when was the last time the TBS or water pump/thermostat were replaced ?

... it has 145k miles on it and the thermostat, and water pump have never been replaced. I went through the records and it said that the coils, plugs, engine temp sensor, and new air pump, and 4 dampeners put in at 120k

You don't have to cut the stud if you don't want to; I "double nutted" the stud and removed the stud & nuts. I have an early '04 model, built in 'April, '03. It had about 260,000 miles on the clock when I replaced the original plastic piece with Grueven Parts' aluminum double O-Ringed version. I did mine as preventative maintenance since I was in the area replacing other stuff.

My father tried the same method with no success; whether it was my lack of detail over the phone or actual failure, I am not sure. As, I wasn't able to witness/guide him performing this method due I being in Santa Fe, New Mexico for my second field camp for Geological Engineering.

The OP is on 145k miles with no belt service? Tick...tick....tick....
Man, make the appointment to get your timing belt and pullys changed. Should run you about $1200-$1400.
