Default Off Topic... 2016 Tesla S 75D Autopilot

I coworker took me in his 2016 Tesla S 75D today since I've never been in one. The autopilot is quite impressive, the ride and the interior are NOT impressive at all compare to the Audi A8L. Anyhow, I would love to have autopilot in my car, the working one of course.

Cheers,

Louis

It's an excellent thing. I love driving but there are plenty of times I'd just as soon let the car deal with it. Heavy traffic, mostly. The adaptive cruise in the D4 works very well, although obviously not as advanced as this. Even so, it does a lot to destress a congested commute.

Default So the trunk remote close/open cost $3500 for the option

He did the after market one for $500. Even with the $100k car, Tesla still nickle and dime you, at least the Audi A8 D3 has the trunk open and close for less than $20... LOL.

Cheers,

Louis

I test drove a P100D last week and the autopilot is impressive. I also agree that the interior isn't up to par with either my D3 or my D4. Considering how new Tesla is to the game I'm interested to see what they look like in 10 years.

People pay $100k for new technologies... My friend pays nothing to drive the car after the purchase. He lives close to the super charging station, 1hr 300miles. 2016 is the last year for life time free charge, unlimited LTE, music streaming... he will have 4 years of 0 maintenance besides tires and brakes... very low cost of ownership compares to Any $100k car.
It's only great if you're in CA at the moment I think.
Cheers,
Louis

Elon Musk wasn't happy about people using the supercharging stations near their homes. He said it was only ever intended for travelers. Still, the rates Tesla are to charge for use of the station are very reasonable.
