Default Brake warning light come on

2014 A8L 3.0L TDI at 51k miles here. The brake warning light just came on recently. And there is this "replace brake pads!" or something like it flashing.

If it's the issue, what vendor you recommend to use for the brake pads? Should I replace the breaking fluid at the same time? What's the best option for it? I have hired an independent local mechanic to do the job, by the way.

Much appreciate it!

Here is the most reasonably priced source of OEM products I know. I am assuming you are North American like most forum members, if not it would be good to add your country to your profile so advice can be tailored to your market. EBC makes pads that are also well regarded. Check your rotor thickness, Audi likes to replace them every brake job but this isn't often necessary.

Default Best bet is just use OEM pads, flush brake fluid

annually and certainly when you replace pads. Usually front pads get replaced 2X rear pads, but on most Audis I've had I've found the rears get replaced fairly often because they're relatively small pads and the ABS/traction control gives them a workout.

I have a private friend who did this.

All pads/sensors for around $170. Labor $140.
