I've been looking at dealer inventory online for a Prestige with Black Optics package and it seems like it doesn't exist. Does this not exist? Is it only available by custom order?

Bingo. If you look at the order guide it says by order only, so no dealers may order it against their inventory. The only possibility of one showing in inventory is if a customer orders one with BO and then backs out.

It would still show on a dealer's website. However, they don't show until the car is built, and as far as I know, none have been built for the US yet.

I would imagine that it wouldn't show up since it's a "sold orders only" option.

So does the car show up on the dealers web site as soon as it finishes production? So for an S4, it would still be at the plant waiting to go to Emden for shipping?

That's pretty cool. So for those of us with a car on order all we have to do is keep an eye on the dealers web site and as soon as we see it pop up we would know the car has been produced and is on the way to port for shipping.

My local Audi Atlanta has a new 2018 S4 that claims to have the black optic package. Not sure if this may be a mistake or not.. worth looking into if anyone would like to ask?
