Okay, I'll ask one question, how thick a phone case will the metal go through and be effective? I have a Spigen nano hard case on an Galaxy S8. Curiosity is there, that's for sure.

It should work, I also use a Speigen case on my iPhone 6... when you buy the Combo Clearmounts we ship with both magnetic and cradle clamp holders!
