Cabin Air Filter - Location and Where to Buy
Hi Everyone,
I've had my 2017 (B9) A4 for just over a year, and due to my allergies and living somewhere dusty, I want to change the cabin filter. I previously had a B8 A5, and my wife has a B8 Allroad, so I was familiar with how to change those. It is a little harder to find this time, but still in the generally same location. The problem, however, is that the filter is all new -- it is curved. (The cover also does not slide off like it used to; it pops off by pulling on two tabbed areas. You can see one of them on the far left edge of the photo just above the thing that looks like a screw hole.)
As of today, any parts place that claims to have a filter for the car is showing the wrong one (the ones from previous years). The flat filters with the notched corner do NOT work in the B9s. I've pasted a pic below showing the cover of the filter unit. (Sorry, the space is tight so it is pretty close up.)
So: Does anyone know where to get a real actual cabin filter for the B9? Even the genuine Audi parts websites don't seem to have it.

Amazon suggests that is a Mann (OEM supplier) CUK or FP 2450 filter, about $22. I'd expect to find a YouTube video showing just how to change it. In my case (q5) the hardest part was kneeling down on the pavement to get under the glove box, easy enough to do the job.

I have that exact filter in front of me -- it is wrong and I have to return it. The filter compartment is curved as in my photo. The Mann FP 2450 is the old style flat filter that is from the B8s. This is the problem -- the websites are all showing filters that physically don't fit into the B9 filter compartment.

I went and pulled the cabin filter out. As you can see below (right) it is fully rectangular, flexible, and now has a curve in it matching the filter compartment. It is a Mahle DA306005 filter, with VAG part number 4MO 819 439 A. I straight up can't find this filter anywhere.
On the left is the MANN FP2450 filter that all the websites say is the right one. As you can see, it is not. It is the old filter from the B8s.
For now, I'm going to vacuum out the existing filter and hope someone realizes that every auto parts database is wrong and we eventually get some correct filters.

Not the first time Amazon, or RockAuto (ha) or another parts list has been wrong. I had that for many years on my last car, front end alignment systems were calling for FWD models (not made in that year) or diesel engines (never in the US on that model) and sometimes adult supervision was required.(G)
With Amazon, sometimes you can query the seller and they'll come back with an answer. With recent models, sometimes aftermarket parts just lag a while before they are available to match.
