In process of buying Q7 but for some reason I'm unable to select as options all three of the above. I can only choose two of Running boards, All Wheel steering and Tow assist. I don't understand why?


Also if I were to get AWS and running boards, could I then, after delivery, fit a detachable tow bar?

Due to GVWR restrictions Audi doesn't like to put the Tow Package and Running Boards on at the factory or port. You can install the running boards later or the tow package later. The tow package has the greatest differential between port install cost and dealer install cost so I would choose that one to order.

After you purchase you should receive a coupon from Audi for a discount on accessories. You can use this coupon to purchase your running boards.

There's been a lot of discussion about running boards and all wheel steering on the vwaudiforum. I don't think there's been a conclusive answer but you can't have all wheel steering with the running boards - maybe with 3rd party alternatives but not Audi OEM.

I may be wrong, but seem to recall reading somewhere the reason you can't get running boards and AWS is due to clearance issues.

You can get it with boards and AWS. For some reason boards and towing are not compatible. Beats me why.

You can get (at least here in Europe) running boards in combination with AWS, but then trailer assistant isn't available. Running boards can not be combined with trailer assistant, I don't know why...
