Default What transmission fluid to buy for 2005 Audi A6

I want to change the transmission fluid for a 2005 Audi A6, but am not sure which oil is best for the car. I will be glad if anyone would advise me on what will work best for the car.
Thanks in advance!

I did the research and this is the matching OEM:

ZF Lifeguard 6 S671 ATF 20612A04 ZB11Z2

https://www.ecstuning.com/b-zf-parts...saAl1MEALw_wcB

I replaced it at around 100K miles. probably will do again at 2OOK.
I also highly recomend to replace the steering fluid. It is very easy to replace.

I have used amsoil on 3 different A6's. I use Amsoil for the trans, diffs and transfer case. No problems after a lot of miles. You can check their site for the correct fluids and capacities.

I have another question.
I bought the 2005 Audi A6 from the auction with a few ding to the body, which I felt I could fix. But the transmission is also making some squeaking noise, light vibrations, or shudders when changing gears, especially between gear 1 and 2, and gear 1 to rest. I ordered one of the ATF recommended by a member of this great forum, so I could change the fluid, hoping that would resolve the problem. However, I just realized there is a possibility the previous owner might have completed a technical service bulletin (TSB) issued on the car by Audi requiring owners to install a TCU software along with the new updated ATF. If the previous owner has done that, then the fluid I bought is no longer recommended for use.
My question are:
1. I don't want to go to the an Audi dealer shop to know if these changes has been effected on the car. Please, are there ways I can find out what TSB has been effected on my car before it got to me?
2. Even if the updates has been done, is it okay if I still go ahead and do a change of the trans fluid with the first version of AFT?
Thank you for your responses in advance.

if you have VAG-COM tool, you can read the info for the Transmission. I think someone explained to me what all the details in the info mean when I was changing the oil. I can compare your readings to mine and if they are the same, you need the same oil as I did.

Absolutely correct!
Thankfully, I posted my transmission vcds info & was advised that my '06 C6 3.2 had the tsb update & required LG6+.
ecs tuning is the only supplier that I've found for that fluid also. Equivalents are out there, but that's my only source for the original "blue" fluid.

Your choices are ZF 6, 6+, or 8. The best way to check is to take a sample of the fluid and then determine what color it is an match it to what you need.

There's a great write-up on how to do this and you can determine what color you need as well:

http://www01apps.zf.com/kst464/ZF_In...011_en0700.pdf
main: http://forums.audiworld.com/showthread.php?t=2816950

t-30 torx drive
gasket 09L-321-371
filter 09L-325-429
5 liters fluid (I kept the original 09L fluid which I believe was green) total 9 lites
G 055 005 A2 fluid. That is the original transmission fluid for your car

maybe G 060 162 A2
The G055 005 A2 bottle has golden color fluid inside.
The G055 162 A2 bottle has blue color fluid inside.
Audi A6 C6 with O9L transmission Model year 2005-2007 use ATF p/n G 055 005 A2. Model year 2008 and up will use ATF p/n G 055 162 A2. If you drain transmission fluid G 055 005 A2, you can refill with G 055 162 A2 but not the other way around.

G055005A2 (G 055 005 A2) Automatic Transmission Fluid (1 Liter) manufactured by FEBI BILSTEIN for $9.34 , ZF for $21.60 at KO Performance
