V6 mid-engine. Which manual trans code, or eng?
Been planning a mid-engine project and think the Audi V6 forced induction with manual trans is going to be a good fit for me.
Goal is 300-400 hp, forced induction, manual trans (just rear wheel drive).
If you were starting fresh, is the 2.7 adequate or is there a better, later model unit that will still be something that electronics can be sorted out on? It has to be a manual trans setup.
Bellhousing pattern. I think there are changes in years? For a manual trans (5-6 spd) I'm told the FWD version is what I want to use and those came from about a 2003 Audi something? Can anyone give some info on codes and models to source? Assuming the 6 spd is strong enough, that's first choice. Does the 4.2 S4 6 spd belhousing fit the V6 engine pattern?
So, this is a clean start. No parts sourced yet. Bang for buck can be maximized at this point.
