Default Did the fuel pump recall 24BZ a month ago and today the fuel is dripping!

Came home from work today and parked the car on the driveway. I noticed some unusual gasoline smell. I looked down and it's dripping fuel from the underside of the car!!

Called Audi roadside assistance and they will be coming soon to pick up the car and transport it to my local dealer who did the recall.

Is it safe to assume that this is definitely related to the recall and has anyone else experienced something similar?

Check the black fuel line that runs above the spark plug coils on the passenger side.

The leak is coming from the gas tank under the rear seat. I saw the recall instruction somewhere online and it appears to be pretty straight forward to replace the fuel pump in the fuel tank. I am not sure how anyone can screw this up...

Removed the rear seats and opened it up. This is what I see - gasoline pooling on the left side of the picture, which is towards the rear of the car. It seems like the leak is coming from the base of the white plastic fuel delivery unit, which should have a flange seal between it and the fuel tank. Maybe the flange seal is defective?

BTW, the towing company thought that my car was too low and it needed a flatbed. They didn't have any available so it will be flatbedded tomorrow morning to the dealer....

Here's a shot of an eBay used pump. There is a heavy red rubber-like gasket with it. Your gasket may not be in place or damaged during the installation.

Yup, the car is at the dealer now and they won't "diagnose" the problem until Monday. We will see what happens....
