Default Driver Assistance & Traffic signs screens, but I don't have DAP

I don't have the DAP (have Premium Plus with Nav). Why do these screens display if they never show any info?

I was wondering the same thing on mine last night. I also have the screens, but no DAP. I do get one assistance notification though. When I am driving on a road that the NAV knows the speed limit on, it will warn me on the Driver Assistance that i need to slow down. It will show a green gas pedal with a lifted foot telling me to let off the gas. Predictive efficiency assistant. Sure wish I had the traffic sign information worked.. It looks like i have the spot for the camera on the windshield, but it must not be installed? Wonder if able to retrofit, and code in vagcom

I do not think it is related to DAP... I do not have one either but I have ACC that uses windshield mounted camera. Using it (and radar sensors) car is able to figure out distance to car in front, that is normally shown on screen from the first picture (so header Driver assistance is a bit misleading). The same camera is used for traffic sign recognition - second picture.

Several of the "sense" protocols use the windshield camera. Even if you don't have DAP.

Here is what you have (assuming you are Prestige):

Audi pre sense basic
Audi pre sense city (can be set to Early, Medium or Late)
Parking system, rear
Parking system plus
Audi Side Assist
Automatic Headlights
Cross Traffic Assist
Exit Warning Assist

I would love to get traffic sign recognition working... I can't believe nobody has figured this out yet... It just bugs me that the hardware is there, but disabled.

The hardware is not disabled as far as I know, it is the software.

If you do NOT have DAP option, you should not have the ACC capability.

ACC requires you to have two large radar sensors doms that people mistake them for front fog lights.

If you don't have DAP, you will still have basic cruise control but it is not adaptative.

Well, it depends on country. In Poland ACC is available as either stand alone option or as an upgrade to comfort pack. So I do not have DAP, but have ACC (and radar sensors in the front grill) ;-) What I do not have (thought all HW I believe is in place) is lane assist, which is available in Poland as pard of DAP. Apparently it can be enabled using odbeleven or VCDS, maybe I'll try it later.

Ahh...IC.

Yeah in USA, we can't get ACC as stand alone option....Only as part of the DAP package.
