Did you check with your dealer to buy directly? Price should be negotiable. I am leaning towards getting one as well. My mechatronic unit went out at 43K miles. It is a $4500 repair.

I am getting better prices and terms directly from the dealer. Also the new for 2017 Audi Pure Protection plans are underwritten by VW directly. Although in another state I am working with the dealer I purchased the car from. The local dealer is unwilling to discount the price. You can use the plan at any dealership in the US.

Platinum plan purchased 84 mo / 120K miles. Good till 2022 now. BTW Safe Guard is the new administrator for Audi Pure Protection. Not sure why they changed administrator for 2017.

The extended limited warranty is a negotiable item between dealers. Shop around and you'll be amazed. Just purchased one on my Benz GL 350 and saved over $1k by shopping around. Not apples to apples but I think you can save some $$

Exactly correct, big difference between dealers for the same plan. Once a plan is activated in the Audi system any dealer can use it, similar to Audicare.

Also, the biggest thing to be concerned about when shopping around for extended warranties is the specific terms in the policy. The part usually discussed in the marketing is what is covered. The part you need to dig into the policy to find out are any policy limits or specific exclusions. I once saw a product that had a $5000 aggregate policy limit which is ridiculous because that won't even cover a transmission or engine failure.
While I haven't researched it recently, I would assume the OEM plans will be good value since the company would be very careful to select the right partner who won't do damage to their brand reputation.
My 16 S6 comes off lease in April, and I've been thinking about buying the car and rolling in an extended warranty into the financing.

The quotes I got were in the 5-6K range. I shopped a couple dealers and went with the lowest. Once it is activated in the Audi system, you can go to any dealer. It is best to look at all the options, it made sense for me to have the max coverage and zero deductible.
