Default Wind Noise at High Speeds from Cargo Area

Guys / Gals,

I notice wind noise whenever I'm cruising at highway speeds (70+ MPH). All windows are closed. Sun roof is closed.

I hear the noise while driving and it seems to be coming from the third row / cargo area.

Any suggestions or tips?

Thanks.

Are you certain that this is a wind noise from the third row seats/trunk area, not the noise of blowing air from the rear (second row) vent diffusors? The rear temp controls can be set way too high or way too low for current weather conditions and as driver seldom pays attention to these settings (speaking about myself) - the air can be forced through vents in "wind sound" fashion.

If you have ventilated seat set on high you'll hear 'wind' behind you as well as an FYI.

There's a vent on the B-piller right behind the driver's head. Close that to see if the noise goes away.

Not saying the OP isn't experiencing wind noise. But right after I got the Q7 I thought I had wind noise and realized it was these vents..

Yes, the fan on high does a pretty decent job.

Thanks, but no. I am aware of the power in those rear vents. It makes me sometimes check to see if a window is open.

This noise its different. It may actually be a rattle now more than a wind noise - I listened more carefully this am. It does get worse at high speeds. Its an irritating rattle.

Reminds me of my 2004 A4 3.0 Super Sport... Even that had a rattle, but in that case it was due to the seat belt housing.

Do all Audi's have rattles!? Irritating as heck.
