Default Activating G meter - "Sport Displays" in Virtual Cockpit

This worked on my 2018 with Virtual Cockpit, activating what the manual calls "Sport Displays"

Using VCDS:

17 - Instruments>Coding>Long Coding Helper>byte 10

Check the "Display 'Acceleration' " box and commit.

I have activated it in my A3 but it looks like the sensors are not present so the readings are always 0.

Interesting.. I would think it would be easier to just have it in every car - why would they install the sensor in the S3 but not activate it? Not put it in an A3 at all? Hmmmmm.

I miss spoke, I do not know if the sensors are not present (they probably/are present as you can collect the data from OBD11) but the information is not being sent to the G-meter display, possibly missing some other setting that I didn't bother looking into.

I wish we could activate the centered "tachometer" only view like the S series has.

That's got to be an option with a little VCDS doctoring...

Same on my S5 Sportback. I guess there's some sensor module that's missing. The G-meter was mentioned in the owner's manual, so there may be a way to add it.
