Default 2.7t Vacuum system?

Figuring out this crazy vacuum system would be a huge step in the right direction

I'm trying to prep my engine which i have done stupid amounts of work to to sooner or later meet some higher boost and a big issue besides the nice fail happy EGTs is the very unreliable PCV system which apparently results in oil everywhere.

I've heard one thing to start with is the late revision F oil cap that supposedly has a built in positive pressure valve so if the crank case becomes pressurized it will not blow the seals if the PCV system fails, thats nice and all but i'd also like to not see oil in my intake system.

I've heard of others removing the spider hose and connecting the two valve cover ports to each other and then attaching that to the i assume block vacuum port at the bottom, blocking off the lower intake port and then running a catch can then connecting to the y pip and calling it a day. The vac system however confused me very much as i have tones of hoses going everywhere ever. So with that said my engine is a very early 2000 engine, and I was taking apart a blown 2002 2.7 for parts today and noticed it's vac system and spider hose were different then mine. So the system really confuses me.

So while i deal with some new pulleys and putting my SAI back together(and the EGT nonsense) Can i get input on a good way to deal with the less than optimal PCV system and spider hose? If i understand correctly the problems start when the check valve gets clogged with oil and the system becomes pressurized and dumps oil into the Y pipe.

I'm in an emission free area so I can do whatever I want, so whatever is BEST I'd like to know, as apparently there is many schools of thought, with the cheapest being running the output of the pancake valve into a cheap 35$ ebay catch and and the the output back into the Y pipe and calling it a day. I'll post pictures of the behind my engine stuff when I get a chance if needed.

Yeah the post is confusing probably its 3 am and I can't type on this keyboard for the life of me and spellcheck is making it worse not better.

In regards to the green check valves, I have an 2000 A6 2.7t APB with auto tranny and was hoping someone could tell me what direction the green check valve should be that is connected to the suction jet valve on the back of the engine. Is the arrow suppose to point towards the intake or away. Thanks.
