Using VCDs
Enter the 'Steering Wheel' module, then Long Coding helper. Select the 3rd byte and I ticked the 'tiptronic' check box, then exit and 'Do it

17.1 is old??? do the coding

is the airbag recognised? what part number did you use for airbag?? Does the horn work??

dealer told me that only airbags starting with 8R are compatible as per audi parts diagram.

SW looks really nice.

Update: did some research.
Steering wheel is from facelift
airbag has same part number as prefacelift: (difference is the last suffix)
SW: 8R0419091?? or 8K0419091?? Here I believe you can get SW from other models too but has to have the same PR-Code as the Airbag used..
Airbag: 8R0880201?

Airbag for Q5 has to be 8R.

Thanks for the steering wheel part number. Do you also have the airbag part number?? If it is 8K0880201?? then we have more purchase options. (than just 8R0880201??).

Note airbag part number in general is not read by VCDs (it only reads the airbag control module). Then it reads airbags as crushed sensors (no part number).

The reason I am asking is because I ordered an airbag which was 1/3 higher in price, part number 8R0880201AC, than those with 8k 8P 8F 8E (0880201) also compatible wih my steering wheel ( PR-1XX). It would be a good idea to inform others too if this is possible.

wouldn't the car throw a light if the air bag was not compatible?
