Can somebody describe exactly what you get with this option (if it varies by year/model, a 2016 S8)? And for those of you who opted for or against it, are you happy with your choice (at $5500), and why?

It's pretty much what it says. Everything possible is covered in leather. Personally I love it. Even at 4 years old and 65k miles my car still smells like leather when I get in. I love that smell.

Had it in 2006 D3 W12, have it in 2015 S8. I used to think it was decadent in my A6 days, but it is really nicely done in the A8/S8 class. I buy CPO slightly used, so pay closer to a new moderately equipped V8 but with all the goodies. From running D3 out to 10 years and 110K+ miles, it also wore very well.

Yeah i have the leather option also and love it...i don't think i can own another car now without it. But not gonna lie.... it really is only a visual and mental thing as you are not ever going to touch 95% of that extra leather... however i still need it .

there is one thing i dont get thinking... even the bottom of the seat plastic is covered in leather but they use hard plastic on the bottom of b pillar ? Makes no sense why they couldn't at least use that soft foam there... it's really noticeable to me especially when i use that area to push of to get out.
