No transmission gear displayed in LCD
I think it's curious that my transmission position is not displayed on the center LCD display. Is this normal? 2002 A6 3.0 quattro - it's a limited model so......LCD still works decent but nothing in the bottom display.

I don't have access to vids. I need to look into that. Feel free to point me in the direction. I've been using a Bluetooth obd2 and torque to fix some of the issues on the car but I've read enough I know it has limitations.
The display works quite well with no missing pixels unless it's been sitting in the sun and then it is considerably faded bit the bottom where I think he shift pattern should be delayed has never been present while I've owned the car. There is an amber line and then a blank section below.

Since you are in Idaho I would suggest calling Module Masters in Moscow. See what they tell you. https://modulemaster.com/rebuilds/

Sure. I imagine a phone call to Moscow would cost a fortune. And, of course, there will certainly be a company in SLC who specializes in repairing these. Ten hours?
That was my snarky answer. I was suggesting you call them and explain your issue. They would likely know if anyone would. Maybe, because you live in the same state they might be more likely to listen and make suggestions.

I have dealt with Module Masters. They are more than helpful. They were quick to respond to email and phone calls. Their web site even has instructions for removing the cluster from the dash. I'm about 15 miles from the Mexican border in southern Arizona. From the day I pulled mine till I reinstalled was only about 8 days. It is a ten minute job to remove the cluster and another ten to reinstall it. If they aren't swamped the jump right on it. I can vouch for their work. Can't speak to the Salt Lake Area and what's available. The area below the yellow line is where the gear info would be located. It is possible that something else is the problem. Find someone that works on VW/ Audi on a regular basis and get a scan to see if the problem is something else. If you are in the Pocatello area or close you could probably find someone. Careful because a lot of shops will tell you "No problem" but really don't have a clue when it comes to working on these.
