Default RS5 now in USA

Now that Audi showed an '18 RS 5 at the LA auto show, when can we expect an order guide?

I was told by the dealer I'm working with that he "heard" it should be available in December. However, that was a few weeks back when the build sheets went live in Canada. I haven't heard an update more specific than "December" yet.

Nice! Not a good time to buy and s5 coupe. For a few grand more, you can get an RS!

True, I got an '18 S5 in late August. Traded my '13 RS5, and while the S5 is a pretty good car, I think I will put in an order for an RS when the order guide comes out.

From what I've heard we should start seeing some launch models on dealer lots around February. I'm waiting for it to show up in the Audi on Demand fleet, so I can rent it for a thorough evaluation. Test drove an M4 and C63 S this past weekend for 6 hours each on the kinds of roads I typically drive, including a technical, narrow and windy mountain road that I know well. Loved the M4, didn't like the C63 S, so I'm very curious about the new RS5 despite not being impressed by it so far based on the reviews. Something to keep in mind if you like the Google Earth support in the MMI. All cars prior to MY19 will loose Google Earth after December 31, 2020. MY19 and newer will get a redesigned MMI that supports whatever is coming. Google is changing Google Earth and the current hardware no longer supports the new stuff. One possibility is that Audi is switching to the HERE platform which they part own and use its satellite overlays, since the map data itself is already HERE data. We'll have to wait and see what's in store for MY19.

When they do bring and RS5 SB, i'll be first in line. The S5 SB is great, but does not hold a candle to the driving dynamics from my F80 M3. If they could give me more power, more nimble handling, and slightly less weight, i'll be sold.

I wonder what the odds are the RS5 will be lighter than the A5..???

that may be a hard sell since the motor from the A5 is pretty light to begin with. The S5 motor on the other hand, is a bit heavier.

So far still not on "OMD" for order guides HOWEVER if you search for A5 there is a subbox for a 2018 RS5 where you can get an idea for options that will be in the car as search criteria. It wont show any cars but its a good insight into what you may be able to expect/ compare with known pricing on the RS3 and TTRS. Dynamic/ Dynamic Plus, Black optics, Black Optics Plus, Adaptive chassis ( this is the one I wonder about all wheel steering is included in a same name package for Q7s) 20 ins 5 arm peak design wheels, and dynamic steering.
