Some things that you probably can do before spending the time and money:
1. Check CarFax report and its service history. If you have the VIN, run it by your local Audi dealer to gather some detailed service history.
2. As with any used car, I recommend having it inspected by an independent Audi garage or an Audi dealer before you even consider making an offer on it. I do not live in CA and I do not know of any Audi mechanic. You can do research online and find out who's recommended. And, if they are willing to work with you in giving the car an inspection on your behalf. Obviously, you'll have to pay them for this service.

What specifically are you looking for? A once-over and a test drive, see if anything is jumping out? I do live in the area and can potentially swing by. However, I'm going on vacation soon, so not sure if I have time, depending on what you want. If you wanna have a professional look the car over, the closest Audi Dealership is Audi Concord. It's pretty much the best dealership in the area, too. Maybe you can call them and see if they can get the car and do an inspection on it.
