Faulty DV maybe? Do you hear it go off as if the boost is being leaked out at high rpm?

I changed the DV, I put the uprated one and I also changed the breather unit on the engine, could it be the oxygen sensor?

Can you give some more info of what exactly happens. So you floor the throttle then it gets to a certain rpm then sort of dies out?

It drives perfectly, no cutting out, just at some times it feels very under powered, switch it off and start again, then it's like it was reborn.

Do you have the option to check fault codes? What engine?

Sounds like a sticky MAF or a loose vacuum hose.
Just a guess without any codes.
For the MAF you can get some MAF spray cleaner, if you decide to unplug it and take it off to clean it, when you reinstall turn the ignition on but not start. The maf should go through a re-commissioning set up, full open, full close a couple of times. After it stops then it should be good to start the engine.
A loose vacuum would produce a similar feel to a faulty DV, which you were on that path since you changed the DV. Just a thought.
