Default 2015 SQ5, good deal?

Hey all,
I've been lurking around for a few weeks because i'm probably going to purchase an SQ5 and was trying to do some homework to see if there were any known issues. i've never owned an Audi before, so this will be new for me. I enjoy working on my vehicles but the goal with this one will be to keep it a stock DD and still be able to have some fun. However, i'm trying to figure out if owners think this is a good deal? i test drove this car and it ran rough (dec 22, 17). Salesman claimed they had just gotten it out of detail and they pressure washed the engine bay, had some water in there. I drove a different SQ5 they had in stock and fell in love. Two day later he calls me and tells me that the first one i drove was back to running perfect. His story seems fine, it felt like one cylinder was not firing and just had a hard idle and little bit of limp mode when hitting the gas.

This car is a 2015 CPO with 28,xxx miles. it's a one owner car and the 25k service was just done in November along with a brake flush. carfax is clean and the dealer is asking $38,000 for it.
New warranty will be up in May of 2019, and the CPO will take over until May 2021, assuming mileage doesnt hit first.

let me know what you think about this please and thank you!

MazdaToAudi Can I assume your talking about a new SQ5 ? If so then skip the first one.Dealers don't take pressure washers to the engine compartment of a new vehicle.Odds are there was something going on which they've since corrected.Don't spend your money on a machine that has already had a problem.SQ5 s aren't that hard to find so look around.I take it that given your screen name your coming over from Mazda (aren't I brilliant !) but I've been a fan of Mazda s from a way back.Owned an RX3 rotary back in 73.Good machines but you're in for a treat with an Audi particularly an SQ5.ENjoy.

The roughness sounded like a bad coil pack. It should be obvious if it was fixed. With the VCDC scanner it will tell you of many electrical faults.

I think the only issue is the price. CPO has a cost of about $2000 and should be worth $3000 to you. So look up book value online and adjust for CPO warranty. Sounds in the ballpark to me depending on options.

Sounds like a cheap price. I got a 14 non CPO with just under 20k for 42,350 or so.

Thanks for the responses!

@MurrayA4
this was not a new vehicle. Neither were. I wish I could afford new, but not yet. The vehicle in question is a 2015 and when it didn't drive well I was able to drive a 2016.
Yes, I am coming from Mazda. I've been a huge fan of Japanese imports of all kinds and it's actually a little daunting thinking of switching to German made. Currently drive a Miata with a big turbo and all sorts of go fast and grip parts. It's going to be hard to let that thing go, I've had a Miata since I was 16 and I've seen every inch of this one!

Unfortunately for me, within a 250 mile radius of where I live I don't see more than 5 SQ5's for sale. So being able to test drive them is very limited.
Up that radius to 500 miles and there's plenty but most are close to the 450-500 mile away point.

This one does seem like a decent deal. I'm just trying to get a feel for it. It also seems weird to me that they've dropped the price on it every week by at least $500 and they can't sell it.

Clear carfax and a warr, go for it as long as it's from a Audi dealership.

That sounds like a GREAT deal on a 2015 vehicle. Especially that it got the remainder of the original warranty + CPO after that. If you pass, you should post here where the vehicle is, since I'm sure others would be interested in it.

Unfortunately it sold today!! I was going to purchase this upcoming Saturday as this vehicle was out of town and I wanted to drive it before purchase.

They have another one, 2016 with 12,xxx miles and they are asking $42,000. Optioned slightly better, but I hate the color.

Then don't get it as I get not liking the color. 15's should be showing up on lease returns.
