Default anyone have an issue with comfort access not working to lock doors?

I forgot if what we have is called comfort access but anyway, I can't seem to lock the door by touching the handle button with the key next to me but it WILL unlock the door by just pulling the handle. happens on all 4 doors...

It happened to me a couple of weeks ago. Lasted about 4 days, now everything seems to be working fine. I didn't do anything. It was real cold though and I had the car washed.Maybe that had something to do with it. I've also read that when the battery voltage drops too low this feature is one of the first to stop working.

Thanks. I find it odd that it would unlock but not lock. you would think the system goes out or it doesn't. or even one door but not the others.

3 of my 4 handles had this on my 2014 Q7. 1 failed when in warranty and was fully replaced under it. The other 2 failed out of warranty and I’ve just left them as it’s offside rear and near side front which I can live without.

Unlock and lock switches appear to be separate in the design--the physical button vs. proximity or handle pull to open. Lost two of them under warranty on D3 A8. So far none on 2013 Q5 that has the same sort of design as D4, and no hiccups on current S8.

On my D3 I used to lock it a lot from back door just to spread the wear out, having had two go bad under warranty. Honestly I don't use it much on D4 nor on Q5; I have gone back to the remote mostly. I find that locking touch pad pretty finicky and not reliable with one touch day to day. Whole point of systems like this should be to make them mindless/automatic, but it doesn't seem to be. That is, other than for when it get sprayed with water washing car then it is sure to go haywire a bunch of times. Yep Art, water spray reliably sets it off but not my finger? Likewise, trunk not properly closing about every third time I push the button inside the lid is yet another "should just work like plumbing" but it doesn't annoyance.
