Default AEB at Highway speeds

Just read the consumer reports review of the Q7 again, and it says that ACC has to be on for AEB to work at highway speeds.

"We like pre sense since it gets you high-speed forward-collision warning and automatic emergency braking up to approximately 130 mph. Just note that the adaptive cruise control has to be on for this system to work. So it is best to keep the ACC stalk in the On position at all times."

I do have DAP, and usually have ACC on which I love, but on the occasional time I don't have ACC on, does this mean it won't apply AEB at say 60mph?

AEB meaning Automatic Emergency Brake? if yes, it should work even if the ACC stalk is in the off position.. when i was in my accident, pre-sense kick in automatically and applied the brakes way before i can even move my foot from the gas pedal to the brake.. and i was traveling about 50mph and i always turn the acc off if i don't use the cruise control.. (off meaning pushed the stalk all the way in and the stalk does not illuminate)

Yep, emergency braking is "baked in" the system and nothing you do will disarm it from what I understand.

Below 52mph, I think that's the basic version. I was wondering at above that speed.

Sorry not trying to downplay your incident, it's just hard to understand all the different versions of pre sense
