Default Getting into a locked trunk?

I disconnected the steel pin to the latch when I took out the motor for the remote opening to the trunk. Then I forgot to put it back in when I closed the trunk. Now I can't get in from the outside. Can I get in from the backseat somehow? I can't fold my backseat. I really need to get in there since my door panel to the driver's side is in there. Grateful for help

Here is a page from the service manual on removing the non-folding rear seat backrest.

Good luck.

Thanks Do you know if there's some sort of panel behind the backseat or is it straight through to the trunk?

Don't know. All of the A6 C5 sedans that I have seen have the fold down seat.

Without having removed the back seat, it looks like there's a steel plate/frame behind it. If it's not some sort of hole in it behind there, then how am I suppose to get through then? I mean, surely they must know this can happen and that people need to get in the trunk some other way. I wish I had folded back seats

Sorry, don't know. If there is a dismantler/junk yard near you, check with them. In my experience, they know a lot of tricks that they have figured out over the years.

So I took a look. The only way into the luggage compartment is through the hole for the ski bag behind the armrest. I removed it and then you could see into the trunk. I only got my head through it and not much more. Behind the backrest is a plate so it does not help to remove the backrest. The same goes for the hat rack. How did they think here? I'll have to give my 5 year old nephew instructions on how to open the door from the trunk and push him through the hole. Anyone with a better idea?

Maybe have to check with Audi or a junk yard
