Default Loud whistle from intake after warm up

Very recently, my 2015 A8 4.0T began an annoying whistle and the check engine light came on. After getting the light checked, it came with leak in intake, low idle RPM.

What could this be, best way to fix and how serious could it be?

Thanks,

Hank

The PVC valve may need replaced.

Sounds exactly like what happened to me a few weeks ago on my 4.2. I wrote up a little DIY for it, but yours may have some slight changes.

To test if PCV valve, when it starts whistling, open the oil filler cap and the whistle will go away. That is a pretty solid quick test.

That was it! I can I change the PVC valve?

Easy search under PCV: https://www.audiworld.com/forums/a8-...ement-2940878/ Or the poster’s name

That's for the 4.2 engine and not the 4.0T. Haven't seen one for the 4.0T yet...

https://www.audiworld.com/forums/a8-...2920973/page2/ I don’t know if this helps or you already saw this thread. There may be more info in the 4.0t engine thread.

Looks like a rough repair - 10 hours of labor. Other comments mention oil separator valve vs PCV. Maybe the same thing.

Shrieking sound coming from engine bay
