If you have 2.0L, then Audi manual calls it an "Engine Speed Sender", and it is #9 back of engine driver's side, it reads a wheel on end of crankshaft.

I have 2012 A6 3.0 TFSI and I have P0337 code shows up, so I`ll be appreciated if someone can help me to figure out where that sensor is located.

According to my manual is #10 for my 2012 A6 3.0T Prestige.
Here's the instructions it provides-
Remove noise insulation (rear) ⇒ General body repairs, exterior; Rep. gr. 66 ; Noise insulation; Removing and installing noise insulation .

– Remove bolt -arrow- for coolant pipe on gearbox (right-side).

– Remove bolts -arrows- and push ATF cooler slightly to one side.

– Unplug electrical connector -2-.

– Unscrew bolt -1- and pull out engine speed sender - G28- .

Installing

Installation is carried out in the reverse order; note the following:

– Install ATF cooler ⇒ Rep. gr. 34 ; ATF circuit; Removing and installing ATF cooler .

– Install coolant pipe (right-side) on gearbox ⇒ page 235 .

The engine speed sensor G28 looks like located on the left top side of the engine on the diagram.
However, it is deceiving. It actually is hidden under the ATF cooler and need to be accessed from bottom of the engine.
