Safety Recall - Fuel Line A6/A7 2012-2014
SAFETY RECALL 20AR - Fuel Line
I received a recall letter yesterday. The fuel line was designed with a compression point to assist in installation. Some are leaking.
Parts will be available February 19, 2018. It's about a three-hour replacement if your fuel line fails inspection.
If you smell fuel, don't wait for a letter.

I asked at the service desk today and they don't know anything more than what's written in the letter. When someone knows where the compression point is, I'll check my own fuel line and go from there.

Just a heads up on the service time.

I just had the recall work done yesterday on my 2012 A6 3.0t (68k miles) and it only took about 3-4 hours. I have attached a PDF showing the procedure. Perhaps on PrincipalJenkins's car, they had to do the earlier recall work also?

not sure - i remember them saying they had to remove a lot of stuff. Also said they were not able to complete the service on any car within those specified guidelines.
Again - wasn't a big deal to me because the gave me a loaner and usually offer good service

"Open hood and inspect fuel line.
• If fuel line is flared - Continue with fuel line replacement.
• If fuel line is not flared, no further work is required - Proceed to Section C. "
I couldn't copy the picture from the PDF. I do have a picture of my 2012 A7 with the flared fuel line. On the left is an in-line fuse for my air horns. The center is the fuel line with the flare. The right is the EVAP line.
