Default Rattle during start up

Hey guys,
I'm back with another question. Whenever I start the SQ5 after it has been sitting for a long time I can hear what seems to be a rattle coming from the engine. Ive looked around it now a few times and its not a heat shield or guard loose. This only happens when the car is all the way cold and only lasts a few seconds then its gone. Any thoughts or ideas befora a trip to the dealers? thanks

My first thought is a cam chain tensioner but I haven"t seen this problem with the 3.0L supercharged motor ....

Default Start up noise

Could it be the oil pressure building up to normal? I've had this on a few vehicles that don't have a spin on filter with a check valve.

Any idea what oil - brand/grade you're using ? Could be a factor.

Is there a hum too? If so, check and see if you have a U2 CD in the player..

on my SQ5 it happens every morning. Less than 2 sec of cam chain rattles. After that its all good. Usually i would have fix it myself by now, but damn thing, its facing the rear. Doing it blind.

Normal, no. The chain tensioner has been revised. Old one was losing oil or oil was leaking back out when engine has not been operating for a while ( in our case overnight). Once engine cranks, oil pressure is build back up in the tensioner again. That 2 second is chain slapping. I use 0w-40 oil and it only makes the rattle in winter. Summer time I guess the oil Flows better or thinner and hits the tensioner quickly that it doesn’t make the noise.
