Lap timer

Lap timer
On my 2018 SQ5 the lap timer came on on its own without any input from me. Had to go to the dealership to get it back to normal display mode. The first service person knew as much about the settings as I did; nothing. The second service person fiddled around with it till he got lucky. With all the possible settings, it might be good to have a master reset to get back to normal in such an event. How did it get itself into the lap-mode to begin with anyway?

I did not know I had the Lap-timer feature until it came on on its own. Try stepping on the gas to get into some speed and rpm's. It might surprise you like it did me.

It is damn fast, and handles like a Porsche 930 I had; although it feels totally different as there is no breaking loose from the pavement at all. Tried to drift, but no go. Drifted the 930 on the Nürburgring. Likely takes a pro driver to drift an SQ5 that's if a four wheel drive vehicle can be drifted on pavement at all.

This is the forum section for up to 2017 Q5/SQ5.
I am not 100% sure on the 2018+ models but on my Q5 (I enabled the lap timer with VCDS) you can simply cycle through screen menus until the lap timer shows and continue to cycle through until you return to your original screen.
JasonJ, not sure if the Lap timer is enabled automatically on your SQ5, but if it isn't you should be able to with VCDS.
