Default Heated Wheel Turns itself off

So I brought in the car since the heated steering wheel did not heat up. Now it is hot as can be and turns itself off. Does anyone else's wheel do this?

Pretty sure it’s on a timer and will turn off rather than keep heating till you turn it off.

Mine never really turns off, it's always on, but the amount of heat it applies on the wheel tends to adjust.
Is it possible they coded to a higher temperature and now it shuts off because it gets too hot? My heated steering wheel has never been "as hot as can be".

I believe that operation of steering wheel's heater is tied to air temperature reading by the sensors inside of car's cabin and not controlled by a timer.

There you go. I think I turned in on once since ownership and have since swapped out to a unheated flat bottom.

Mine doesn't shut off until you turn it back off, even stays on after a shut down and restart.

Mine doesn't appear to turn off at all. And when I start up the car next time, the steering heater reverts to how it was when I turned off the car. I cant confirm if the heat adjusts over time or not.

I like my wheel as warm as it can be so I turn it to level 3, the highest setting, all the time. It seems over time it turns itself down to level 2 and upon restarting the car, it doesn't start at level 3 like I wanted it. Each time I get in the car I have to bump it back up to three.

But never had the auto-shut off.

There are levels? Mine just toggles on and off. The seats yes but the wheel is just on/off on mine.

How do we set the levels of heat?
