Default BMW X3 Impressions

I have a 2016 Q5 2.0T on lease. I drove a new BMW X3 (4 cyl) the other day. I would say it's much improved from when I drove it in 2016. It rides much better - without the harshness over road imperfections. It feels like a larger vehicle than my Q5 even though I think it's similar in size. My lease isn't up for a while but it's on my shortlist. Anyone else compare the 2018 X3 before deciding on the Q5?

I thought I really liked the BMW interior until I got in the Audi - it makes the BMW seem like a tin can.

Test drove both. The interior of the new x3 isn’t up to par with the Audi.

The interior of the x3 looks more dated. In addition for the x3 if u don’t go for the nav you are stuck with a small infotainment screen.

X3 might be fun. But it’s too dated imo

Here is a link to a recent thread about comparing SQ5 to X3 M40i

Umm no, the nav screen is much bigger in the X3 than Q5/SQ5. I've owned both a 2018 SQ5 and X3 M40i, each has their own strong areas. I think Audi has a better instrument cluster, but BMW beats them everywhere else inside. I'll post my review today which should answer most questions regarding the X3 M40i.

Not really though. It's more than infotainment. The X3 just feels less expensive. It feels somewhere between Audi and Honda.

How so? Their implementation of the ''tablet" screen doesn't look as tacky imo. I think iDrive has a little more friendly interface plus split screen is a big plus. One thing I really don't like is the high gloss black trim next to your wood inside.

i am not talking about the m40i. If u don’t get the nav on a regular x3 the screen is small.

The standard Q5 still has a smaller screen without the nav package 7" vs 8.3") per Audi. The M40i like SQ5 share nearly identical interiors to their normal counterparts with a few exceptions.

I didn't think the X3 interior felt cheap at all. Let's be honest the new Q5 interior has its share of hard plastic. The Q5 dash has a simpler design which is a plus. I will have to drive the new Q5 to see how I like it compared to my 2016.
