Default Break controller help

We have a 2018 Audi Q7, we have the tow package with a 7-pin external connector installed. I just brought a Tekonsha Primus IQ brake controller and through this forum found out how to pull out the pre-installed plug in the dash. We bought a brake controller to audi harness on eBay which I found on this forum. Thanks for all the great info and leads BTW. Well I connected the harness to the Primus IQ brake controller and the car but it does not turn on.
I looked at the fuses in the back and they seem to be okay. In the manual it shows the fuse positions as well as a "trailer hitch" slot 7, well in my car it's absent so I tried sticking a 20a fuse in it with still no luck. No sure what's going on as it doesn't power on at all. Is there another connection somewhere we are missing. Thanks for the help!

Quick update, it seems my 7-pin and pre-wire are not giving me any power per my multi meter. Anyone know why that might be? The 7 pin was installed by dealer. Also i'm embarrassed about my wrong us of "break." my bad. Thanks for the help!

sounds like its time to go back to the dealer to find out why they didn't wire it right...
Where on eBay did you find the wire connection to the plug under the dash?

https://www.ebay.com/itm/VW-Touareg-...oAAOSwnTdaIGjs

I emailed him and he confirmed it works with the 2018 Q7's.

My multi meter did not show any power either. When I connected up the power cord on the my airstream, everything worked. Some how the car needs more than a multi meter to be activated.
I bought my Plug and Play Trailer Brake Controller Harness from the same Ebay seller.

Oh really? So was the brake controller completely dead or just not delivering power? Because mine looks like it's completely dead when I plugged it in. No light or anything on the controller. I don't have my trailer, so I can't really try it. Thanks!

Yes that is correct. I had my Plug and Play Trailer Brake Controller Harness installed at a truck service shop in Santa Rosa (Hahn Automotive) that has a small test rig that was the equivalent of my trailer.
