Default 285/40/21 on 10,5 wheels - opinions about fitting?

Just some weeks till my new Q7. OEM wheels I will left for winter. I decided to buy Vossen HF-1 wheels in size 21 x 10,5, ET 30 (picture below). I read that in USA you speak about different tire sizes (275, 285, 295/40/21) but in Europe my Audi dealer allows only 285/40/21 so it would be better at least first tires buy in that size.

So the question is - does anyone have 285 summer tires on 10,5 rims? Does it looks like normal not too narrow?

Thanks in advance!

I recommend Continental DWS 06 in 295/40R21.

Great all around tire and fitment will be spot on

I'm on 285/45/21, on 9.5 wheels. Love the extra cush/cash I get from a set of 600$ Accelera Iota. Sensible difference from the winter 285/40/21 setup. I should have gone 285/45 for winters too.
Also, perfect fitment, no apacers.
Hope that helps,

cheers,
Bob

Does anyone have exactly 285/40/21 on 10,5 inch width wheels? I know that 295/40/21 would sit better therefore I’m a little bit worry and would like to know opinions from real users because each of tire dealers told me different views just to buy tires from them

When my 21x10” arrived I installed my OE 285/40R21 and felt they were a bit to narrow for my liking, so swapped for 295. I mean the 285 looked alright on a 10”, but think 285 on 10.5” isn’t going to look right on a vehicle this big.

First 2 are 285 then the other are 295

No experience with that fitment, but FWIW the 285/40R21 tires are approved for use on rims from 9.5 to 11 wide per Tire Rack. So, appearance aside, it should technically "fit." Would like to see pics of your setup once you get it.
