Default Front Brakes Spongy after disc change

I have a 2004 Audi A8 D3

I changed the from discs (not the pads as they were OK)

The brakes now feel a little spongy.

No fluid was spilled or leaked so not sure wy this is happening. Should I have done anything in VCDS?

Many thanks

Did you bleed brakes? I always do after brake work, and typically get a better feeling pedal in general. Audi spec for fluid change is every two years.

Now that you have new disc but old pads, the pads will need to be bedded into the new disc for a little time to make them feel right.
