I have both on my 750 and like them.

Question: How rougher is an A7 without air suspension?

I tested two cars last week. One with AS and another without it. You can feel the difference in the AS. It rides smoother and adapts to different road conditions (rise/lower automatically).
In terms of the standard suspension, I was surprised how smooth it was. I expected way worse experience before I drove it given that the one I drove had a 21 inch alloys. The AS is still better and like magic. It provides a whole different experience, but if you are concerned about its cost and maintainability, you can go with the standard suspension with confidence.

Thanks for your reply. My concern was that Audi has decided to not make it available in the USA.

i have to decide whether to get an Audi WITHOUT it or, perhaps, an E class WITH it.
