Default C8 S7 Engine Question

I’ve been waiting for the official announcement like everyone else, but does anybody have a good idea what engine will be offered in the C8 S7? My lease is up on my current S7 and I’m really wondering when we will hear the details

Seems like a 50/50 chance of either the 2.9L V6 or new 4.0L V8. While the 2.9L is a great engine with a good sound, I’m rooting for the V8 and it’s fantastic sound. Add in the dual clutch transmission and I will be the first in line!

What does everyone think?

There may be hope for the V8. The new Panamera GTS was announced yesterday and it will have a 4.0l TT V8........

I got it on pretty good authority that the new S6/7 will get the twin turbo 2.9L V6 from the Panamera S. In the Porsche that engine makes 440hp and 405lb-ft, but you gain some weight savings over the current twin turbo V8 in the S7. In comparing Panamera S (2.9L V6) to Panamera GTS (4.0L V8) the weight difference is 275 lbs. Probably not all engine related...

Interestedly the new Panamera GTS with its twin turbo 4.0L V8 "only" makes 453hp. Only 13 more ponies than the 2.9L V6... However, torque is 457.

When reading my manual for the new A7 I noticed this in the back. Note the S7 section

Good catch! A little funny that slipped through and was published. I checked the A6 manual and it has the S6 listed on the same table with the same engine.

I careless. I am still ordering that new S7!! Coming Q3 this year. No need for V8 anymore. Newer V6s are more quicker and faster than lazy V8. How I know? I have a 2016 A7 3.0T and a Audi A8L 4.2 V8 and the V8 is so damn slow and sluggish. The V6 with supercharge just flies. I am excited to see how the new 2.9 V6 performs!! Also gets far better MPG.
