Audi is not Ford - they don't just crank cars out without regard to sales figures, and then slash pricing to move "old" stock - they operate on a just in time inventory basis
The vehicle is not substantially different at all, and as such, pricing will not change much

Wasn't the 2018 first available in April 2017?
An inordinately long time to keep it at he 2018 model year (17+ months), but as you folks are saying - they aren't Ford.
Also waiting patiently to compare, and decide between a new-on-lot 18 with incentives (wishful thinking?) vs a 2019 with any minor updates.

In Houston, www.houstonaudidealers.com is showing close to 500 2018 Q5s and 88 2018 SQ5s in inventory. Combined that's equivalent to some 8% of Audis nationwide Q5/SQ5 sales in August (and August was the 2nd best Q5/SQ5 sales month ever).
I've tried to lock in 2019 pricing but just keep getting harassed to buy a 2018...

Actually, that's exactly what I did. Told them to call me back when they are ready to be serious...they wouldn't even talk discounts on a 2019 but called me every night for a week trying to get me to buy a 2018. No hurry on our part.
