Default Xpel/ceramic coating results

Just picked up my car today from the detailer. I got full frontal and doors Xpel film and ceramic coatings for the whole car. I’m intending to keep this car for several years so wanted to take what measures I could to protect it. One thing I did not know about the film and coatings is that it really brings out the metallic paint. In direct sunlight it’s almost glittery (but not too glittery). The photo doesn’t quite capture it but it’s really cool. I’m in the Boston metro area if anyone is looking for a shop recommendation.

Nice! (though I suspect it looks better in person).

I sort of had that same experience. I ended up getting Daytona Grey (generally I don't think of gray as a color) but it wasn't my first choice.

Once I got down to doing a good wax job on it I was super impressed with the depth of the pain. It's amazing!

Where did you get it done?

Thanks! I had it done at Unique Car Care in Andover, Massachusetts. The owner took photos of the work in progress so I could share them with my 15 year old nephew who is very into cars. My nephew is planning to visit me in Boston next year for the first time ever for I suspect the sole purpose of driving the A5.

Paint correction and coating makes the paint pop. Especially if the paint is worn but even on brand new cars, it does. Congratulations on the new car.

And be the perfect aunt and ask your nephew if he wants to drive and let him if he says yes (if you trust him, that is), I remember when I as young and when relatives bought brand new cars, they’d ask me if I wanted to drive without me having to ask them. Some just gave me the keys and asked me to go for a drive alone. Of course I took care of their cars like it were my own but that also made me like them even more

Thanks! How do you like the matador red on your SQ5? That was the other color I was considering when I ordered my car. And good advice on offering versus being asked - that will make me a much cooler aunt.

Pat, that looks great. Excellent choice on the detailer. He's one of the best!

Enjoy!
